Residents in Harrison, Fawn and East Tarentum experienced a series of power outages Sunday.

An outage that began about 7:30 a.m. Sunday left residents of Harrison and Fawn without electricity for several hours.

West Penn Power showed more than 5,000 customers without electricity in the area. But by noon, the map showed no outages at all.

On Sunday afternoon and into the evening, a pocket of East Tarentum also was without power. West Penn Power reported power was restored there by 9 p.m.

The Tarentum Electric Department sent a message to customers at 4:30 p.m., stating that it was investigating the outage, “beginning with the substation in Brackenridge that feeds our system.” The West Penn Power outage map said about 400 customers were without power.
