Two people were taken into custody, while another is still on the run, after shots fired led to a crash and chase in Pittsburgh’s Perry South neighborhood overnight.

Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Chester Avenue around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday after reports of gunfire.

Officers who were already in the area saw a car speeding away. When they attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver did not stop, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.

During the chase the driver lost control of the car and crashed into a home in the 1900 block of North Charles Street.

Police said three people attempted to flee the scene on foot.

Officers were able to take two of the people into custody but the third person remains at large, as reported by WTAE.

Detectives said they recovered shell casings at the site of the initial incident.

Police did not respond to immediate request for comment.

The investigation is ongoing.
