Fox Chapel Area High School performers are gearing up for this year’s fall play production.
Students in all grade levels have been working diligently to present the Thornton Wilder classic “Our Town.”
The play explores the relationship between two young Grover’s Corners neighbors, George Gibbs and Emily Webb, whose childhood friendship blossoms into romance, and then culminates in marriage, according to the official Wilder family website.
When Emily dies giving birth, the circle of life portrayed in each of the three acts of “Our Town” – growing up, adulthood and death – is fully realized.
Students are led by local director and producer Kristiann Josephs. Teacher Joseph Gass is serving as technical coordinator and teacher Mary Beth Dixon is the costume/props coordinator.
Shows are scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 6-8 in the high school auditorium, 611 Field Club Road in O’Hara.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets will be sold at the door.
There is a free special senior performance set for 3:30 p.m. Nov. 5. School district residents ages 60 and older need to register for the show. Refreshments start at 3 p.m.
