Three Pittsburgh-area Oak Street Health facilities will close their doors by February, according to the company.

Among 16 total closures nationwide, locations in Homestead, Wilkinsburg and Ingram are each set to shutter.

Owned by CVS Health, Oak Street Health operates more than 200 primary care centers throughout the country, specializing in care for seniors and people with disabilities who use Medicare.

In a statement, the Chicago-based company said it informed workers of the closures last week, and they will be considered for other positions within CVS Health.

“Continued access to care for our patients is also a top priority, and we’re focused on ensuring those impacted are transitioned to other Oak Street Health centers nearby or other providers in their area,” the statement said.

The next closest location sits near Youngstown, Ohio, however.

According the statement, the closures help better position the company to deal with challenges like “elevated medical costs, CMS risk adjustment model changes and health plan payer dynamics.”

The statement did not provide closing dates for the three locations in the region.
