In his response to the murder of Charlie Kirk, President Trump said, “It’s long past time for all Americans and the media to confront the fact that violence and murder are the tragic consequence of demonizing those with whom you disagree day after day, year after year, in the most hateful and despicable way possible.”

This remarkably hypocritical message is coming from the demonizer-in-chief, who says, “I am your warrior” and has built his political base by using demeaning, violent language against those who dare to disagree with him or simply speak the truth. He tells his followers that they need to be “at war” with “enemies from within,” whom he calls “vermin,” “human scum,” “traitors,” “evil people,” “garbage,” “radical-left thugs,” “criminals,” “un-American” and “enemies of the people.”

His calls to action include phrases like “knock the hell out of him,” “punch him in the face” and “can’t we just shoot them?” and he promises violence if he doesn’t get his way, as in, “If I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath.”

If you’re looking for someone to blame for inciting political violence, you need look no further than the White House.
