Here are some of the latest news items from this morning, Thursday, Sept. 11:

Bridge beam delivery to delay Parkway East traffic

Traffic on the Parkway East will be shut down for around 15 minutes westbound Thursday morning for a bridge beam delivery, according to the PennDOT.

Two large trucks will travel outbound on the highway formally known as Interstate 376 and pull in the plaza outside the suburban side of Squirrel Hill Tunnel. At about 9 a.m. Thursday, westbound I-376 will have a stoppage of around 15 minutes near the entrance of the Squirrel Hill Tunnel to allow the trucks to cross the lanes into the work area.

The beam is being delivered for the I-376 Commercial Street Bridge replacement project.
