Medical examiner identifies man who was fatally shot Thursday in Rankin

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim of a fatal shooting Thursday in Rankin as Razelle Shelton, 22.

The medical examiner’s release did not include a hometown for the victim.

Police said they were dispatched for the shooting at 3:10 p.m. at the intersection of Oak Way and Duquesne Street.

First responders found a person who they initially begin described as being in his late teens or early 20s had been shot.

He was taken to an undisclosed hospital where he died.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the County Police Tip Line at 833-255-8477 (833-ALL-TIPS). Callers can remain anonymous.
