A Saturday crash involving two motorcycles in Darlington left one man dead and two others injured, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The two motorcycles were each traveling near the center line in opposite directions on North State Line Road, but they could not see each other because of a slight rise in the road, police said. Upon cresting the rise, both operators attempted to swerve, but the motorcycles impacted on their right sides, which police said caused both operators to lose control.

John Harvey, 79, of New Brighton was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 41-year-old Ohio man, Lorman Frye, was flown to a Youngstown hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Harvey’s passenger, a 43-year-old woman, escaped the incident with minor injuries, police said.
