A Monroeville woman was pronounced dead Sunday night at AHN Forbes Hospital in Monroeville after the vehicle she was driving struck a house in the municipality.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office said the woman, 67-year-old Patricia Brletic, died of natural causes, citing cardiovascular disease.

Monroeville Police Chief Doug Cole said the 9:20 p.m. crash in the 2200 block of Monroeville Road is believed to have been caused by Brletic experiencing a medical event.

He said Brletic, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where she could not be resuscitated.

There were no injuries inside the home, Cole said. He said a structural engineer determined it was safe for the occupants to remain there.
