Incumbent Monroeville Councilman Dennis Biondo may have lost the primary for his council seat, but he’s trading it for a run at the mayor’s office.

With 100% of precincts reporting, Biondo beat out primary challenger Mandal Singh, taking home nearly 74% of more than 3,300 votes, according to unofficial results.

Biondo was also running for reelection to his Ward 7 council seat, but was beat by challenger Allison Ramsey, who won nearly 64% of the 545 votes cast.

Incumbents Joseph Hyzy (Ward 1) and Mike Adams (Ward 5) ran unopposed.

In Ward 3, Democrat John Washington and Republican Gary DeLorenzo also ran unopposed, and will face each other in the general election.
