Authorities raided a North Huntingdon vape shop Thursday morning after undercover officers made purchases there of suspected illegal products.

Westmoreland County Detective Tony Marcocci said authorities seized large quantities of items containing THC, the psychoactive ingredient of marijuana, in a raid at Star Smoke and Vape on Route 30. The items confiscated are being tested.

The business could not be reached for comment Thursday evening. It also was selling legal products.

The raid was a joint effort with North Huntingdon police and the state Attorney General Office’s task force.

Marcocci said police seized a “very significant amount of controlled substances.”

Police had gotten complaints that juveniles were making purchases at the shop.

Arrests are pending, according to authorities.

Similar raids were conducted Oct. 24 at three other vape shops, in Delmont, Hempfield and Latrobe, resulting in the seizure of drug-related items.

The next day, they conducted two raids at vape shops in Lower Burrell.

No charges have been filed in any of the raids.
