Franklin Park man arrested for Sewickley incident

A man wanted for questioning in connection with a lewd incident in Sewickley has been identified and arrested by Allegheny County Police.

David Whitten, 82, of Franklin Park was taken into custody at his home Friday evening.

He had been identified as the person witnesses said exposed himself and committed lewd acts near the intersection of Beaver and Chestnut streets around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Whitten is charged with corruption of minors, open lewdness and two counts of indecent exposure.

He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail awaiting to be arraigned.

Sewickley Police Chief Dave Mazza said he was grateful for the cooperation between his officers and county detectives with the investigation.

“I’m proud of the work of our officers and appreciative of the working relationship our department has with the Allegheny County Police Department and their top notch staff,” Mazza said Friday night.
