West Carson Street in Pittsburgh closed for a time Friday night between Highmark Stadium and the Smithfield Street Bridge as officers arrested an allegedly intoxicated man.

Public Safety officials alerted the public about the incident via its Twitter page around 9:30 p.m. Friday.

The man was allegedly intoxicated and refused to exit his vehicle.

Officials updated the post shortly before 10 p.m. to announce the man had safely gotten out of the vehicle and was in custody.

Allegheny County dispatch said there was police activity still in the area and the road remained closed as of 10:05 p.m.
