A man was hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday evening after being shot in Pittsburgh’s Crawford Roberts neighborhood.

Public Safety spokesperson Emily Bourne said officers responded to the 1900 block of Bedford Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. for ShotSpotter alert that indicated that eight shots had been fired.

Police located a man in a vehicle in a nearby parking lot off Rowley Street.

Bourne reported the victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to UPMC Mercy hospital in critical condition.

No description of possible suspects was immediately available. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the shooting should contact Pittsburgh police at 412-323-7800.
