Winter appears to be arriving a bit early in the Pittsburgh area.
According to the National Weather Service office in Pittsburgh, this week’s high temperatures will be hovering around 43 degrees, which the service says is 10 to 15 degrees below normal.
Tribune-Review news partner WPXI reports that the average high temperature this week will be a frigid 37 degrees.
On Sunday, a few snow flurries hit some parts of the region, but didn’t stick.

More snow is expected to hit parts of the region starting Tuesday, with totals projected to be around half an inch or less. The National Weather Service reports possible snow will be concentrated in the mountains to the east of the region and in some northern reaches of Butler and Armstrong counties.
And don’t expect temperatures to rise anytime soon. Cold weather is projected to extend well into Thanksgiving week.
