Hempfield house hit by fire

A house along Bridge Street in Hempfield was extensively damaged by a fire late Thursday night.

The fire, which was reported at 10:50 p.m. , went through the roof on the 900 block of Bridge Street, located off the Cedar Street exit of the Route 30 bypass.

The property is owned by Karen and Rocco P. Valore Jr., according to the Westmoreland County tax map.

Hempfield Co. No. 2 was assisted by several other Hempfield fire companies, as well as units from Greensburg and South Greensburg.

Additional details were not available late Thursday night.
