A Monroeville man was arrested last week on multiple sexual assault charges stemming from the early 2000s, according to Pittsburgh police.

Raymond Dixon Jr., 36, was arrested Feb. 4. He faces charges of unlawful contact with a minor, two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, two counts of indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, indecent expose and corruption of minors.

Court documents show the incidents allegedly occurred in 2003. The charges were brought forward after a victim in June went to Pittsburgh police, who investigated the allegations, according to spokesman Chris Togneri.

According to a criminal complaint, the victim, who was about 8 or 9 years old at the time of the alleged events, described three separate incidents in which the abuse allegedly occurred.

Police are still investigating to determine if there are additional victims.

Anyone with information on Dixon or other crimes he may have committed can contact the Special Victims Unit at 412-323-7141.
