Two men face charges after Pennsylvania State Police officers found marijuana, drug paraphernalia, two handguns and more than $2,000 in cash during a traffic stop in Monroeville.

Matthew Earl Tubbs, 43, of Oroville, Calif., faces charges of dealing in the proceeds of illegal activity, possession with intent to deliver and two counts of illegal possession of a firearm — all felonies. He also faces five other misdemeanor charges related to drugs and a DUI.

The charges stemmed from a Dec. 7 traffic stop along I-376 near Garden City Drive. A state trooper said he observed Tubbs driving at high speeds along the interstate and weaving in and out of three lanes of traffic.

The trooper said he later found Tubbs’ blood alcohol level to be 0.073, just under the legal limit of 0.08.

The criminal complaint filed against Tubbs said the trooper spotted a small baggie of marijuana in the SUV’s center cup holder. Later, officers did a search of the vehicle and found a loaded 9mm handgun, a 40 caliber handgun, more marijuana, THC infused candy, $2,100 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

Tubbs’ passenger, Jordan Antwan Kralik, 28, of Johnstown also faces charges including carrying a firearm without a license, possession with intent to deliver, dealing in the proceeds of illegal activity and other drug-related charges.

When asked where he was going, Kralik said Tubbs was taking him to a friend’s house and that he didn’t know Tubbs.

Both are scheduled to face Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey Herbst on Jan. 11.

Court records do not show attorneys listed for Tubbs or Kralik.

A nonmonetary bail was set against Tubbs. Kralik was released on his own recognizance.
