Expanded hours
The library’s new hours of operation are:
Sunday, 1-5 p.m.
Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
There will continue to be time slots for at-risk individuals and senior citizens on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9-10 a.m. Curbside pick up appointments are still available as needed.
The hours began Nov. 1.
Virtual etiquette workshop
Whether you are having a virtual meeting with your church group, garden club or grandkids, you can improve your online presence and etiquette and ultimately, create a better experience for everyone in the Zoom room.
Sandra Lane is a Certified Professional Organizer, productivity specialist and founder of Organization Lane. She has taken that experience and shares her message of time management, productivity and organization one-on-one as a productivity coach, and to groups as a virtual and in-person speaker.
The workshop will take place 7-8 p.m. Nov. 17. Register online or by calling the library.
Mobile hot spots
The Sewickley Public Library now offers free mobile hotspots to patrons.
The easy-to-use device connects your tablet, laptop and other WiFi-enabled devices to the internet. These devices are perfect for travel, schoolwork, job hunting and more. The library currently offers four mobile wireless hotspots for checkout (you must have a library card).
Hot spot internet service is provided by T-Mobile with unlimited data at 4G LTE speeds. 3G is available internationally. Up to 15 devices may be connected to the hot spot at once. If you are traveling outside of the Sewickley area, please check the T-Mobile coverage map for your destination.
New York Times access
Full access (including archives) to the New York Times is available to those with a Sewickley Public Library card – at the library or in your own home. For home or remote access, a 72-hour pass will be generated and you will need to login or register for a free NYTimes account to redeem the access code.
24th MAVUNO Celebration
In partnership with Sweetwater Center for the Arts 24th Annual MAVUNO Festival, the Sewickley Public Library is showcasing a collection of titles featuring local Black authors, Black History in Sewickley and works highlighting African American art and culture through Nov. 7.
