The Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a blaze that displaced five Harmar residents.
Flames erupted in a garage at 241 Sweet Gum Road shorty after 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Firefighters from several nearby communities were able to knock it down in about an hour and limit the damage to the brick house duplex, according to Allegheny Valley Assistant Fire Chief Jay Zangrille.
No injuries were reported and firefighters did not have water problems, he said.
Three people living at 241 Sweet Gum Road were assisted by the American Red Cross, while two people at 243 Sweet Gum Road were to stay with relatives Tuesday night.
Zangrille said the second address sustained minor smoke damage, but is livable.
Firefighters from Blawnox, Dorseyville, Fox Chapel and Cheswick also respondedt.
