Millvale police are looking for a person who they say lit a North Avenue house on fire early Wednesday morning.

Firefighters and police officers were called to the scene shortly after 4 a.m. Police said witnesses said they had seen someone spray paint the home’s front steps, throw a brick at a window then pour accelerant on the front of the home before lighting it and running off.

A business two blocks away reported that an unknown vandal had spray painted over its security cameras minutes before the arson.

The extent of the damage to the home could not immediately be determined.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Millvale Police Department at 412-821-3410.
