The department reported 23 new covid-19 cases Saturday, 35 new cases Friday, 21 new cases Thursday, 33 on Wednesday, 35 on Tuesday and 27 on Monday.

The death toll, reported by the state, remained at 39. Westmoreland County Coroner Ken Bacha continued to report 33 deaths. The coroner’s website hasn’t been updated since July 3, and will only be updated when a new case is reported to the office, the website says.
