Pittsburgh police responding to a pair of Shotspotter alerts late Monday in the city’s Homewood neighborhood found a wounded man lying on the ground, according to authorities.

Officers from the city’s Zone 5 station discovered the man in a parking lot near a business in the 7000 block of Frankstown Avenue around 11:50 p.m.

The man had been shot in his lower right leg, authorities said.

The victim was alert, conscious and in stable condition when emergency responders took him to a local hospital for treatment.

The incident is under investigation, officials said.
