Police said a Butler woman stabbed her boyfriend to death in their apartment on Sunday.

Butler City Police on Monday charged Shaina Ann Helen Grush, 31, with criminal homicide in connection to the death of Robert Wagner, 43. The two lived together in an apartment on the city’s West Jefferson Street.

Police said they were called to Wagner’s address shortly after 2 a.m. for a report of an injured person. When they arrived, they found Wagner with a stab wound to the chest. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said they found a large, blood-covered knife at the scene.

Grush was arraigned Monday morning and taken to Butler County Prison after being denied bail, according to online court records. A preliminary hearing is set for June 24.
