Allegheny County health officials on Monday reported no new coronavirus-related deaths, five new cases and one new hospitalization.
Both the county and the state are reporting 168 deaths in the Allegheny County. The county is reporting an additional five cases, bringing the total to 2,008.
The state updated its coronavirus website on Monday. Two clickable maps showing data pertaining to Allegheny County are reporting different case numbers. One map is reporting the same number of cases as county officials — 2,008. The other is reporting 1,989 cases.
Health Department spokesman Nate Wardle said the discrepancy could be related to website updates.
“With the launch of the dashboard, there are a few data updates that still need to occur today,” Wardle said. “Also, the county and ZIP code map has been funneled into the dashboard, and so the previous county and ZIP code map may not be up-to-date.”
County data show that of the 2,008 cases, 1,881 are confirmed and 127 are probable. Of the county’s 168 deaths, 156 are confirmed and 12 are probable. All deaths occurred in people between to ages of 42 and 103, with 84 being the median age, according to the county.
A total of 351 coronavirus patients in Allegheny County have been hospitalized, according to county data. Of those, 133 were admitted to intensive care and 69 required use of a ventilator, county officials said.
Of the total number of cases that have occurred in the county, 54% have been in women and 46% have been in men, according to county data. About 14% of the cases involved health care workers.
Allegheny County moved to the green phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s reopening plan on Friday.
