A Pittsburgh man is wanted on charges that he stabbed another man several times Tuesday in a fight over a woman in Avalon, police said.

Patrick Giesy, 39, is facing charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment in connection to the incident, which occurred shortly before 12:50 a.m., Allegheny County police said.

An Avalon police officer was patrolling near the Red White and Blue Store on Route 65 when he heard screams for help, and found a man who was bleeding from the chest. The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

According to police, Giesy and the man verbally fought over a woman, and during that argument, Giesy produced an edged weapon and stabbed the man numerous times in the chest.

Police said Giesy fled the scene following the stabbing.

Anyone with information about the stabbing or the whereabouts of Giesy is asked to call the Allegheny County police tipline at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477).
