Pittsburgh police are investigating the alleged assault of a man early Saturday in Oakland.

Emergency responders were called to the scene of a reported assault on the 300 block of Atwood Street around 3 a.m. When they arrived, they found an unconscious man lying on the sidewalk. Witnesses told investigators that the man had been jumped by a group of men who were no longer at the scene.

He was taken by paramedics to the hospital in serious condition, police said.

Investigators are looking for witnesses to the alleged attack, and reviewing video of the attack that has been shared online.

Anyone with information on the assault is asked to call the Zone 4 police station at 412-422-6520.
