Fresh veggie ramen sold locally at Whole Foods Market is being recalled for possible health risks, company officials said.
Veggie Noodle Co. voluntarily recalled its Cece’s Brand noodle bowls for potential listeria contamination.
The veggie ramen with chicken broth is sold in 11.5-ounce containers at retailers nationwide. Locally, it is stocked at Whole Foods along Centre Avenue in East Liberty and along Perry Highway in Wexford.
Company officials said the separately packaged egg is the culprit, having the potential to be contaminated. There is a recall by a provider of the eggs, Almark Foods, used in the product.
No other Cece’s products were impacted.

Symptoms of listeria can include fever, headache, nausea and abdominal pain. There have been no reported incidents of illness related to the ramen bowls, according to the company.
Shoppers who purchased the product are encouraged to throw it away or return it.
