All schools within the Steel Valley School District in Munhall will be open on Monday.

The district posted on its website Saturday that repairs to the high school and middle school emergency fire alarm system had been completed, the system had been fully tested, and the Munhall Fire Chief had approved normal use of the building.

The district cancelled classes at the high school, middle school and Steel Center Friday, and parent-teacher conferences scheduled for Thursday, due to problems with the emergency system at the high school and middle school. Park Elementary and Barrett Elementary schools weren’t affected.

In a Friday letter to district families, Superintendent Edward Wehrer said parent-teacher conferences were expected to be rescheduled for next week, but the date of the conferences would be dependent on the success of the repairs.

The Saturday statement on the district’s website didn’t say when those conferences might be held.
