A portion of South 18th Street in Pittsburgh’s South Side Flats will close for a week in November so crews can lay new railroad tracks, the city announced Monday.

The closure of South 18th Street at South Shore Court will take place from Nov. 4 through Nov. 8.

During the closure, no vehicles will be allowed to access Southside Riverfront Park or the South Side Dog Park, the city said. Pedestrian and bicycle access still will be available to the park via South Water Street at South 27th Street.

The CSX Railroad Company is laying the tracks, which will cross South 18th Street.

Anyone with questions about the closure can call Department of Mobility and Infrastructure officials Alan Asbury at 412-255-2597 or Denny Robinson at 412-255-2530.
