McCandless residents marked the end of summer with activities and entertainment at the 19th annual Community Day celebration.

The Sept. 14 event kicked off with a parade and ended with fireworks. There were musical performances throughout the day as well as rides and activities for kids and lots of food.

The headlining act was local singer Chris Jamison of TV’s “The Voice.” A ceremony also was held at the McCandless/Northern Allegheny Heritage Center in memory of Joe Bullick, a local historian whose collection of North Hills memorabilia and artifacts are housed in the museum.

A wide-range of classic, custom and vintage vehicles also were on display at the Frank J. Farina Memorial Car Cruise
