Ross commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday night to accept the resignation of manager Douglas Sample.
Board President Steve Korbel said Sample, whose last day on the job was Friday, resigned “for personal reasons.”
“He didn’t resign because of any township-related malfeasance,” Korbel said following the Sept. 3 meeting.
The vote also included a separation agreement for a severance package that was part of Sample’s contract.
Sample was hired as Ross manager in December 2012.
His salary this year was $110,892, according to the township budget.
Sample’s position is being filled on an interim basis by Richard Hadley, chairman of the board of supervisors in Cranberry Township.
Hadley previously worked as the manager for Reserve Township and is a retired executive director of the Allegheny League of Municipalities.
Commissioners approved an agreement Aug. 19 to hire Hadley at a contracted rate of $80 an hour.
