Deadline extended to sign up for Pittsburgh’s Citizen’s Police Academy program

Pittsburgh residents interested in learning more about what it’s like serve as a police officer still have time to sign up to participate in the Citizen’s Police Academy.

The deadline to register for the program has been extended to Monday, Sept. 2.

The program, which kicks off Sept. 5, covers topics including:

• SWAT

• Bomb Squad

• Use of Force

• Driver Simulator

• Firearms Simulator

• Narcotics and Vice

• Mounted Unit

The police department also offers a Student Police Academy, which begins on Oct. 10.

Applications to attend both programs are available online.
