Plum Borough is sponsoring the first farmers market at Plum Creek Park on July 8.

The event will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. and will feature produce from Bridge’s Farm and Greenhouses, a local establishment that will sell a variety of fruits and vegetables.

Other vendors include Pappy’s Kettle Corn, Oakmont Candle Works and various food trucks, including The Pub at 333.

Carrie Lewis DelRosso, the borough’s public relations consultant, said the farmers market is Plum’s first, but officials hope to garner enough popularity to keep it going on a regular basis.

“We want more community events and to get people more at the park,” she said, adding the Plum Creek Park, located at New Texas and Ross Hollow roads, was recently rebranded to attract a larger segment of the community.

The event will be free to attend and any proceeds will benefit the vendors.

For more information and to register as a vendor, call DelRosso at 412-219-7877.
