When President John F. Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Act in 1963, the average American woman earned 63 cents for every dollar earned by men. More than five decades later, a new analysis found Pennsylvania women still earn less than men for doing the same work, with the disparity equaling about $35 billion a year.

Tuesday marks the annual Equal Pay Day.

Here is a by-the-numbers look at the impact of the gender wage gap in Pennsylvania:

80 cents

Amount women earn for every dollar men earn

$10,180

Amount the average woman loses in earnings annually due to the wage gap

Eliminating the gender wage gap would provide enough money for:

12.8

Months of additional childcare

6.6

Months of additional insurance premiums

.7

Years of college tuition
