UPMC Passavant and Passavant Hospital Foundation will hold its annual free “Shred-A-Thon” on April 6.

Residents can bring up to six boxes of documents to safely shred for free at the “Shred-It” vehicle from 9 a.m. to noon at the UPMC Passavant green lot, 9100 Babcock Blvd.

Any confidential information will be accepted including bills, bank account information and all other paperwork.

This is the third year the two organizations have held the event together.

Last year, “Shred-A-Thon” drew 320 cars and 17,500 pounds of paper for shredding.
