A sign at the declining Century III Mall in West Mifflin says the Dick’s Sporting Goods store there is closing on Saturday.

The notice follows a decision by a bankruptcy judge earlier this month to reject the Dick’s lease at the mall, where the sporting goods retailer has had an anchor store since 2004. The mall’s owner since 2013, Las Vegas-based Moonbeam Capital Investments LLC, filed for bankruptcy in September.

Dick’s and J.C. Penney, both anchor stores, are the only two remaining stores at the mall, which opened in 1979 but has been in decline more recently. Other, smaller tenants received letters from the building owner in February telling them to vacate the premises within 30 days.

The sign, which said the store’s last day of business is Saturday, noted other Dick’s stores are at The Waterfront in Homestead, the Monroeville Mall and South Hills Village.

Dick’s did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
