Stephanie A. Wilsey, a professor of psychology at Carlow University, has been named dean of its College of Leadership and Social Change, effective July 1, school officials announced Monday.

Wilsey joined Carlow as a full-time faculty member in 2007. She has been interim dean of the college since August.

Wilsey collaborated with colleagues to launch Carlow’s interdisciplinary programs in Crisis & Trauma, Child Development, and Behavioral Neuroscience. She also helped to launch Carlow’s accelerated Master of Science in Professional Counseling program.

The model pioneered in the accelerated professional counseling program has been expanded in the College of Leadership & Social Change to include accelerated pathways to the master of science in fraud and forensics, MBA, and student affairs programs.

“We believe we have an outstanding new dean who will play a vital role in leading the College of Leadership and Social Change through dynamic innovation in a rapidly changing time in higher education,” said Suzanne K. Mellon, president of Carlow University.

Wilsey, 41, of Moon Township, received a doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh in applied developmental psychology, with a quantitative research methodology minor. She received an undergraduate degree in pre-professional psychology from Geneva College. She was the recipient of Carlow’s Sisters of Mercy Award for Excellence in Advising in 2011.
